Here’s how to apply for
a Dekko Foundation Grant
1. Check to be certain that your proposal aligns with our priorities:
A. Geographic Priorities:
We consider grant proposals that benefit people in communities where our founder, Mr. Chester E. Dekko, had an interest during his lifetime. Those communities are:
- Alabama: Limestone County.
- Florida: Collier County.
- Indiana: DeKalb, LaGrange, Kosciusko, Noble, Steuben, and Whitley Counties.
- Iowa: Clarke, Decatur, Lucas, Ringgold, and Union Counties.
- Minnesota: The Community of Ada.

B. Concentration on young people:
Our grantmaking is sharply focused on projects that support the development of children ages birth through 18 years.
C. Grantmaking Priorities:
We consider grant proposals in the following four categories because they advance our mission of fostering economic freedom through education:
2. Remember that timing is everything.
Please give us about 90 days for our board to research and consider your grant request. Keep in mind that the Foundation will choose not to make reimbursements for monies expended before grants are approved.
3. Have your plan in place.
We feel strongly that a current strategic plan, prepared by the staff and board of your organization, is a first step toward readiness for participation in a grant program. When we meet with you we will want to understand how your request fits into your overall plan.
4. Help us understand the type of support
