To lay the groundwork for economic freedom we invest in quality child care and early education. Since 1996 we have worked to improve children’s futures by:
- Helping parents understand their roles as their child’s first teacher.
- Building the child development knowledge of caregivers.
- Increasing the management skills of early care and education programs.
- Challenging the effectiveness of early care and education practices and raising the bar to the high standards that children need to thrive.
- Assisting early care and education programs as they work to become viable, self-sufficient resources for families and children.
In our Alabama, Indiana and Iowa grantmaking areas we support the efforts of local early childhood leaders to build high quality, financially sustainable early care and education programs.
