    CAPITAL PROJECTS

We understand that sometimes serving young people better means upgrading facilities, adding new equipment, or even building from the ground up. These aren’t decisions organizations make lightly — and we don’t take lightly our role in supporting them either.

    OUR COMMITMENT CONTINUES

Throughout the foundation’s history we’ve invested in capital projects, and that’s not changing. We prefer to focus our investments on the parts of projects that align with our mission and support young people in building knowledge, skills, and character.

    WHY BUY-IN MATTERS

Through years of grantmaking, we’ve learned something important: The most successful projects happen when organizations and their communities are invested, too. When everyone has skin in the game, projects don’t just get built, they thrive for years to come.

    NAVIGATING TODAY’S FUNDING LANDSCAPE TOGETHER

We see the challenges out there. Traditional funding sources are tightening up, especially in smaller communities where options are already limited.

Our ability to invest remains strong. But we want to be strategic so we can continue supporting both capital projects AND youth-serving organizations’ day-to-day programs and operations.

    LET’S TALK

Before you write that grant proposal for a capital project, give us a call. We’re happy to talk to you about your idea and our desire to be more strategic in our investments. If you decide you want to send us a grant proposal for your capital project, you must first complete our Capital Project Snapshot Form.

    OUR FOCUS GOING FORWARD

We’re being more intentional in supporting smaller, community-based organizations that might have fewer funding options, particularly those that demonstrate collaboration, innovation, and cost-effectiveness.

    FREE EXPERT HELP AVAILABLE

Meet Greg Matney, our construction consultant. He’s got decades of experience and loves helping organizations navigate construction projects big or small. Think of him as your free sounding board — though remember, his involvement doesn’t guarantee funding. He’s just here to help you be successful.

    WE’RE NOT SAYING NO

Let us be crystal clear: We are not closing the door on capital projects. We’re just being more thoughtful about how we can best support youth-serving organizations in our grantmaking areas.

We look forward to hearing more about your ideas. You can reach out to our staff at 260-347-1278.
